Gold Prices Drop Sharply for Second Consecutive Day

Gold prices continue to fluctuate in response to international economic conditions, experiencing a significant decline over the past two days. In Chennai, gold prices saw a further sharp reduction today. Yesterday (Wednesday), a gram of gold decreased by Rs. 400, selling at Rs. 13,800, while a sovereign (8 grams) dropped by Rs. 3,200 to Rs. 1,10,400. Today, a gram of gold fell by an additional Rs. 300, now priced at Rs. 13,500. A sovereign decreased by Rs. 2,400, bringing its price to Rs. 1,08,000. This marks a total reduction of Rs. 5,600 per sovereign over the last two days. Silver prices remained unchanged, with a gram selling at Rs. 260 and a kilogram of bar silver at Rs. 2.60 lakhs.
