Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has stated that he cannot release water to Tamil Nadu under the current circumstances. The announcement follows a telephone conversation between Shivakumar and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay regarding the ongoing Cauvery water dispute.
Shivakumar firmly rejected the request for water release while extending an invitation to Chief Minister Vijay to visit the Cauvery basin in person to assess the situation.
