DMK president M.K. Stalin has called on all like-minded political parties to join a protest in Thanjavur on August 3. The demonstration is organized to condemn the Karnataka government's ongoing efforts to construct a dam at Mekedatu.
Stalin accused the Karnataka government of aggressively pursuing the project since the change of administration in Tamil Nadu. He further criticized the Chief Minister for remaining silent after merely writing a letter to the Prime Minister, demanding to know how much longer the government intends to delay fulfilling its promises to the state's farmers.
