Harsh Singh secured a historic gold medal in the men's 50kg judo event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Friday. He defeated Australia's Joshua Katz by waza-ari, marking India's second judo title of the evening following Asmita Dey's earlier victory.
The final match remained competitive until the closing minute, when Singh executed a decisive attack to take the lead. He maintained his defensive discipline to protect the advantage until the final buzzer, capping a dominant tournament performance that included victories over opponents from Malawi, Vanuatu, and Australia.
An experienced international competitor, Singh has previously represented India at the Tokyo Grand Slam, the Asian Championships, and multiple International Judo Federation Grand Prix tournaments.
