DMK lawyer N.R. Elango has alleged that 30 percent of the electronic voting machines (EVMs) used in the Kolathur constituency during the Tamil Nadu assembly elections were compromised. He raised concerns regarding the integrity of the voting process and the subsequent handling of the equipment.
Specifically, Elango pointed to booth number 157, where three voting machines and one control unit reportedly featured new address tags. Furthermore, he alleged that the mandatory wax seals required after polling and counting were not properly applied, and that the machines were not stored with the necessary security protocols.
