The Tamil Nadu budget for 2026-27 has announced significant financial allocations for various agricultural and environmental initiatives. The Annal Ambedkar Agricultural Assistance Scheme has been allocated Rs 56.72 crore, while the Agricultural Forests scheme will receive Rs 17.70 crore.
Additional funding includes Rs 10 crore for the protection of agricultural produce and Rs 7.35 crore for measures to prevent crop damage caused by wild boars. Furthermore, Rs 4 crore has been earmarked for the removal of invasive Seemai Karuvelam trees.
