Global food prices have surged to their highest level in three years, driven by the combined impact of ongoing conflicts and adverse weather conditions. The sharp rise in the cost of essential commodities, including wheat, cooking oil, and sugar, has been identified as the primary factor behind this trend.
According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), this inflationary pressure pushed the global food price index to 131.1 points in July.
