Following the confirmation of Nipah virus infection in one person in Kerala, the Health Department has ordered to intensify surveillance and preventive measures in Tamil Nadu. The Health Department has instructed district medical officers to screen those coming to Tamil Nadu from Kerala. The Health Department has also ordered immediate testing for those coming from Kerala or those with symptoms of severe fever.
