Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has dismissed reports claiming that Chinese troops have advanced 60 kilometers into Arunachal Pradesh. While acknowledging that border issues exist, he clarified that these stem from a lack of formal delineation rather than a territorial capture by China.
Rijiju stated that local concerns regarding the border are valid due to conflicting claims over land stretches between Indian villagers and those on the Chinese side. He warned that spreading misinformation, including the use of unrelated images, undermines the morale of Indian security forces and creates unnecessary national confusion.
To address the situation, the government has increased patrolling by the Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The Ministry of External Affairs continues to maintain that Arunachal Pradesh is an inalienable part of India, emphasizing that peace along the Line of Actual Control remains vital for bilateral relations.
