Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw has unveiled a new mobile manufacturing scheme valued at Rs 62,500 crore. The initiative is designed to bolster domestic production capacity and enhance the global competitiveness of Indian companies.
Minister Vaishnaw stated that mobile phones produced under this program are expected to reach the market within the next 10 to 14 months, underscoring the government's commitment to promoting indigenous mobile design. To qualify, participating companies must develop their own proprietary designs and provide proof of intellectual property rights for their products.
