A family of three died in a tragic incident in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after an 18-year-old youth, identified as Kunal, climbed a hill in the Tisgaon area following a dispute over iPhone installment payments. Police reported that the teenager had been demanding money from his parents to cover the costs of the device, leading to a heated argument before he left home around 10 am.
During a three-hour standoff, local residents and the youth's parents attempted to persuade him to move away from the cliff edge. Despite offers to purchase him a new phone and pleas to consider his future, Kunal insisted that death was his only option. The situation escalated around 1 pm when his father, Murlidhar Chandgude, attempted to physically pull him to safety, causing both to lose their balance and fall into the gorge.
Witnessing the fall of her husband and son, the teenager's mother, Sangeeta, jumped from the hill shortly after. All three individuals died at the scene, and their bodies were recovered for post-mortem examination. Local authorities have registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
