The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has initiated a transition to fully outsource the manufacturing of rockets and satellites to private companies. Pawan Goenka, chairman of the government’s Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), officially announced the move.
According to Goenka, 120 technologies have already been transferred to the private sector. Moving forward, ISRO will shift its focus exclusively toward space exploration missions and scientific research, withdrawing from its traditional role in manufacturing operations.
