Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay as announced a solatium of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of four students who died in a road accident in Konnaiyar village, Tiruchengode taluk, Namakkal district. The compensation will be disbursed from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
The tragedy occurred on the evening of September 3, 2026, when a private college bus collided with a two-wheeler carrying the four students: Subitha (19), Nivetha (17), Dhanushree (13), and Abinaya (12). Nivetha, Dhanushree, and Abinaya died at the scene, while Subitha succumbed to her injuries while being transported to the hospital. The Chief Minister has expressed his deep condolences and sympathies to the grieving families.
