TASMAC management has issued formal notices to 2,000 employees currently participating in strikes, warning that they face immediate termination if they do not return to work. The industrial action follows the suspension of several staff members accused of overcharging customers at state-run liquor outlets.
Minister Vignesh had previously warned that strict action would be taken against any employees found collecting excess amounts from consumers. In response to the subsequent suspensions, staff across various locations launched protests and work stoppages, prompting the administration to issue the current ultimatum.
