Part 2 — Answer key and explanations for all 15
T01 — C. Kuṟṟiyalukaram has six categories: long-vowel, āytham, vowel, hard-consonant, soft-consonant and medial-consonant groups.
T02 — A. பாகு (pāku) has a long vowel before its final குற்றியலுகரம்; it is நெடில்தொடர்.
T03 — B. The letter ஃ (āytham) precedes the final கு, so this is ஆய்தத்தொடர்.
T04 — C. அரசு (arasu) is classified as உயிர்த்தொடர் because the preceding ர is a vowel-consonant letter.
T05 — B. பத்து (pattu) has a hard-consonant sound before the final து: வன்தொடர்.
T06 — D. பந்து (pantu) has the nasal consonant ந் before து: மென்தொடர்.
T07 — A. மார்பு (mārpu) has the medial consonant ர் before பு: இடைத்தொடர்.
T08 — C. Kuṟṟiyalikaram is a shortened இ sound, pronounced for half a māttirai (metrical time unit).
G09 — B. IST is based on the standard meridian at 82°30′ east longitude.
G10 — C. The Tropic of Cancer crosses eight Indian states, from Gujarat to Mizoram.
G11 — C. Indira Point on Great Nicobar is India’s southernmost point; Kanniyakumari is the mainland’s southernmost point.
G12 — B. India extends approximately 3,214 km north to south, compared with 2,933 km east to west.
G13 — B. The revised official coastline length is 11,098.81 km; 7,516.6 km is the older figure.
A14 — C. Length = 77 × (4/7) = 44 cm. This question is confirmed in the 2016 Group IV paper, Q193, printed p.74; alignment with the final-key booklet version is pending.
A15 — B. Inverse proportion: taps × hours stays constant. 6 × 10 = 15 × t, so t = 60/15 = 4 hours.
