Its consolidated net profit stood at approximately ₹30,049 crore during the same period.
The company has benefited from its growing subscriber base, higher data consumption and expansion of digital services.
However, its telecom business continues to account for the majority of consolidated revenue.
How Will Jio Use the IPO Proceeds?
The IPO consists entirely of fresh shares issued by Jio Platforms.
According to its prospectus, the company intends to use the net proceeds primarily for the full or partial repayment of certain borrowings of its material subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, and for general corporate purposes.
Reducing borrowings could help strengthen the company's financial position.
What Are the Benefits for Investors?
1. Direct Ownership in Jio Platforms
The IPO provides public investors with an opportunity to own shares directly in one of India's largest digital and telecommunications businesses.
2. Exposure to Digital Growth
Jio's expanding operations in 5G, broadband, cloud computing and artificial intelligence may create long-term growth opportunities.
However, future business growth does not guarantee stock market returns.
3. Reserved Quota for Reliance Shareholders
A portion worth up to ₹2,500 crore has been reserved for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders.
Eligible individual investors and Hindu Undivided Families holding Reliance Industries shares on October 14, 2026, may apply under this category, subject to the offer conditions.

Will Jio Customers Receive Free Shares?
No free shares or special IPO price benefits have been announced solely for Jio SIM or JioFiber customers.
Customers who wish to invest must apply through the normal IPO process, subject to eligibility.
How to Apply for the Jio IPO
Investors can apply through an eligible bank or registered stockbroker using a Demat account.
Select Jio Platforms IPO in the IPO section, enter the quantity in multiples of 12 shares, choose the applicable bidding category and submit the application.
Under the ASBA or UPI process, the application amount is blocked in the investor's bank account.
If shares are allotted, the applicable amount is debited. If no shares are allotted, the blocked amount is released.
The deadline for approving the UPI mandate is 7 PM IST on October 23, 2026.
What Are the Investment Risks?
Despite Jio's strong market position, investing in an IPO involves risks.
The stock may list below its issue price, resulting in immediate losses for investors.
The company also faces competition from other telecom operators, regulatory requirements, spectrum-related costs, technological disruption and cybersecurity risks.
Its future returns will depend on business performance and the valuation investors are willing to pay.
Conclusion
Jio Platforms' IPO represents a major milestone for Reliance Industries and India's growing digital economy.
Its large customer base, profitability and expanding technology operations make the offering significant for the Indian stock market.
However, investors should carefully evaluate the issue valuation, company financials and associated risks before making an investment decision.
