The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Karur MLA V. Senthil Balaji for questioning in connection with the Karur stampede case. According to sources, the summons issued to him were neither received by him nor by any of his representatives at his residence or office. Officials also sent the summons via email, but no response has been received so far.
Meanwhile, actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay has communicated with the CBI headquarters regarding the investigation. In his letter, Vijay requested a 15-day extension for appearing before investigators. He also asked whether the questioning could be conducted in Chennai or a nearby location.
Sources said the CBI is currently considering both requests and a final decision has not yet been made. However, officials are expected to issue a fresh summons soon.
The Karur stampede incident has drawn significant political attention in Tamil Nadu, with the investigation now being handled by the CBI.
