At an airport in Sri Lanka, 22 Buddhist monks have been arrested after officials discovered 110 kg of cannabis hidden in their travel bags. Customs officials stated that each of the monks, who arrived in the capital Colombo on Saturday, had 5 kg of 'Kush' type cannabis . This is a highly potent type of narcotic. These were hidden inside 'false compartments' built into their travel bags. Most of those arrested are students. They were caught returning from Thailand after completing a four-day, all-expenses-paid holiday tour provided by an unnamed individual.
