Gold and silver prices have seen a significant decline in both Indian and international markets. Internationally, gold has fallen below $4,000 per ounce, while silver is trading below $60 per ounce.
In Chennai today, one gram of gold is priced at Rs. 13,140, making a sovereign (8 grams) Rs. 1,05,120. Silver is trading at Rs. 230 per gram. This downward trend in prices has been observed since the Iran war.Economists suggest that current gold and silver prices offer a favorable opportunity for traders, anticipating future market volatility.
They advise traders to capitalize on this period. Historically, gold prices reached Rs. 1.34 lakh per sovereign, now significantly lower at Rs. 1.05 lakh.
While it appears to be a good time to purchase gold jewelry, consumers should note Prime Minister Modi's advice against buying gold for a year to conserve foreign exchange. Therefore, it is recommended to buy gold jewelry only for essential needs.
