Approximately 70,000 migrants entered the Spanish city of Ceuta from Morocco by sea, prompting the Spanish government to deploy the military to restore order. Soldiers have since secured the city and established control over the situation.
More than 45,000 of the migrants have returned to Morocco by swimming back due to a lack of food. The remaining individuals have been detained by military forces and are scheduled to be repatriated to Morocco by boat. Military officials confirmed that 67 people drowned during the crossing, while those injured are receiving humanitarian medical treatment.
