Thirteen people were killed when a tourist aircraft crashed into a field near the city of Nazca in Peru. The plane was conducting a sightseeing flight over the historic Nazca Lines when the accident occurred.
The municipal government of Nazca confirmed the aircraft was operated by Aerodiana and had departed from the nearby city of Ica. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
President Keiko Fujimori Higuchi expressed her condolences regarding the loss of life. She stated that she is currently awaiting further updates on the progress of the official investigation.
