A heated verbal confrontation erupted in the Legislative Assembly between DMK Minister K.N. Nehru and Congress MLA Tharagai Cuthbert. The dispute began when Nehru questioned the Congress party's role in the formation of past central governments, prompting Cuthbert to retort by highlighting the ministerial positions the Congress had previously offered to the DMK.
Cuthbert further challenged the DMK's political standing, stating that the ruling party is questioning whether Congress could contest elections independently despite having formed the government with their support. The MLA asserted that the DMK's current strength in the Assembly and Parliament was largely a result of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
