The Tamil Nadu government has announced a new initiative to grade state-run schools based on the quality of their infrastructure. Minister Adhav Arjuna informed the Legislative Assembly that school buildings will be categorized using a three-tier color-coded system.
Under this plan, buildings deemed unfit for use will be marked with a red sticker and sealed. Structures requiring maintenance will be identified with a yellow sticker, triggering immediate repair efforts. Buildings certified as safe and functional for the next five years will be marked with a green sticker.
