The Tamil Nadu government has informed the Madras High Court that it has dropped disciplinary proceedings initiated against police officers in connection with the 2018 Tuticorin firing incident.
Following this disclosure, the court questioned whether the state would reconsider taking action against the concerned officials based on the recommendations of the Aruna Jagadeesan Commission. The High Court has directed the government to provide a formal explanation regarding the matter.
