BJP state president K. Annamalai has criticized the ban on mobile phones inside temples, stating that the policy is causing significant hardship for devotees. He noted that worshippers are now forced to wait in long queues simply to obtain tokens for depositing their devices.
In a post on X, Annamalai argued that imposing such restrictions on millions of devotees due to the actions of a few individuals is unnecessary. He likened the measure to burning down a house to get rid of bedbugs, describing the blanket ban as an excessive and counterproductive approach.
