Six forest department employees, including three forest range officers, have been suspended in Tiruvannamalai district following allegations of bribery. The officials are accused of extorting 10 million rupees from tribal residents in the Jawadhu Hills region by promising to grant land titles for forest areas.
The Tiruvannamalai District Forest Officer ordered the suspensions following a thorough investigation into the claims. Disciplinary action was initiated against the staff members based on the findings of this inquiry.
