The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has declared a sample of Nestle "Low Fat Dairy Whitener" to be unsafe and substandard. The sample was collected from the premises of M/s Bharat Hotels Ltd. (The Lalit) in Connaught Place, New Delhi, and subsequently tested by a food analyst.
Following the laboratory report, which indicated non-compliance with the FSS Act, 2006, authorities have issued a notice to the hotel. The establishment has been directed to immediately stop the sale of the identified product.
The food business operator has been provided with a copy of the analysis report and granted the opportunity to appeal the findings within the period prescribed under the FSS Act.
