A harrowing investigation into the murder of seven family members in Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar area has revealed that the primary suspect, Indusekhar, transported the dismembered remains of two victims while travelling with their 11-year-old son. According to police, the suspect drove hundreds of kilometres across Karnataka with the child, unaware that the bodies of his parents, Shankar and Nalini, were concealed within the vehicle.
The surviving boy provided a statement to investigators detailing the night of the incident. He explained that he had accompanied his parents to Indusekhar’s residence at Bashyam Circle for dinner before going to sleep. Upon waking the following morning, he found his father missing. The boy recounted that as he prepared to depart with his mother, he was forcibly locked in a room by a woman present in the house. "Then I heard my mother screaming from outside, ‘Leave me alone.’ Then there was complete silence. I was trembling in the room, not knowing what had happened to my mother," the child told police.
Following the alleged killing of Nalini, Indusekhar reportedly retrieved the boy and placed him in a car where plastic and gunny bags had been stashed beneath the seats and bumper. When the child questioned the contents of the bags, the suspect claimed they were merely household waste and reacted with anger whenever the boy attempted to touch them. The suspect then drove the child to various locations, including Kukke Subrahmanya, Dharmasthala, and Sringeri, with the bodies still inside the car.
Investigators allege that Indusekhar systematically stripped his victims—including his wife Sunita, his mother-in-law Roopvathi, and Nalini—of their gold jewellery after suffocating them. He reportedly cleaned bloodstained ornaments before selling them to shops in Bengaluru to fund his escape. Police stated that the suspect was attempting to transport the remains to forest areas near Chikkaballapur and Salem in Tamil Nadu when his vehicle ran out of fuel. Lacking cash, he allegedly pawned the remaining stolen jewellery to purchase diesel. The Rajajinagar police have since initiated efforts to recover the sold ornaments from the jewellery shop owners.
