The aggressive campaign strategies adopted by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) are increasingly shaping the Tamil Nadu election into a two-way contest. This marks a shift from the previously anticipated four-cornered battle.
Initially, the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections were widely expected to feature a four-way competition. This included the ruling DMK-led alliance, the opposition AIADMK-led alliance, actor Vijay's Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), and Seeman's Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK).
However, TVK leader Vijay has consistently asserted that the primary competition is solely between his party and the DMK. He has questioned the relevance of discussing other parties, stating, "The competition is only between TVK and DMK. Why should we talk about others who are not even in the field?"
