US VP Vance: Iran Holds Key to Peace Deal

14 Apr 2026, 10:53 am
US Vice President J.D. Vance has commented on the peace negotiations between the United States and Iran. His remarks follow an interim ceasefire last week, which led to peace talks commencing last Saturday in Islamabad, Pakistan. The discussions lasted approximately 21 hours but concluded without a smooth resolution, indicating a failure in the talks. Vance stated, "While no final agreement was reached at the end of the peace talks, we saw good progress. Both sides moved towards a single point. However, Iran's movement was not sufficient. The decision now rests with Iran." He added that fulfilling the US proposal regarding Iran's nuclear activities could pave the way for a better agreement for both nations.
