A Taiwanese delegation is currently conducting preliminary due diligence in Tirunelveli and Tuticorin, evaluating these locations for potential electronics and container manufacturing facilities. The assessment includes benchmarking against existing setups like VinFast and TP Solar.
Should the preliminary evaluation prove successful, these sites could be developed for manufacturing a range of products. These include MW-scale solar inverters, EV DC fast chargers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), ISO freight containers (including refrigerated containers or reefers), and port automation hardware.
Separately, Wan Hai Shipping Lines has been assessing the container handling and storage capacities at V.O. Chidambaranar Port (VOC) in Tuticorin.
