Who is Chezhiyan?

Film cinematographer and director Chezhiyan passed away in Chennai due to illness. Hailing from Sivaganga district, Chezhiyan completed his engineering degree and worked as an assistant to P.C. Sreeram with the aspiration of becoming a cinematographer. Chezhiyan, who debuted as a cinematographer with the film 'Kalloori', worked as a cinematographer in films like 'Thenmerku Paruvakaatru', 'Paradesi', and 'Joker'. The film 'To Let' directed by Chezhiyan won the Central Government's National Film Award. He also authored the book 'Ulaga Cinema' (World Cinema), which was well-received by film enthusiasts. Chezhiyan ran a film training organization called 'The Film School' in the Tamil film industry. Through this organization, he guided future cinema creators.
