The European Union has accused Instagram and Facebook, owned by Meta, of designing their applications to be addictive for users.
The EU warned Meta that it faces a substantial fine if it fails to remove features like "AUTOPLAY" and "INFINITE SCROLLING," which are deemed detrimental to mental health. The Union further demands appropriate modifications to the platforms' algorithms and designs to address these concerns.
