Iran's Qeshm Island was hit by 10 to 11 "enemy projectiles" targeting military installations since Sunday afternoon, according to Hossein Amir Teymouri, governor of Qeshm township.
Speaking to the IRNA state news agency, Teymouri confirmed that all targets were military and reported no casualties in Iran.
This incident occurs amidst heightened tensions, with the Trump administration viewing Iran's assertion of control over the Strait of Hormuz as a direct challenge to international freedom of navigation.
Washington believes this has far-reaching implications beyond the region, affecting vital waterways from the Strait of Malacca to the Bosporus.
