The Central government is reportedly planning to pass the Women's Reservation Bill during the Parliament Monsoon Session, which commences on July 20.
Concurrently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying efforts to secure a majority for the constituency delimitation bill, aiming to increase Lok Sabha seats to 850.
The BJP high command is actively working to gather the necessary 360 members to pass this constitutional amendment.
Reports suggest the Central government is engaging in discussions, including "secret talks," with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which holds 22 Members of Parliament.
This move places the DMK in a new political dilemma, especially as Chief Minister Vijay has expressed strong opposition to the proposed delimitation.
