A Chennai court has sentenced actor Vimal to one year in prison in connection with a cheque bounce case. The legal proceedings stemmed from a loan of Rs 4.5 crore that the actor had obtained for the production of the film 'Mannar Vagaiyara'.
The case was initiated after a cheque issued by the actor to repay the borrowed amount was dishonoured due to insufficient funds. Following the hearing, the court delivered the verdict, imposing the one-year jail term.
