A woman identified as Sumathi has died following a landslide in the Thodupuzha area of Idukki, Kerala. Her body has been recovered, and a 34-member rescue team from Arakkonam is currently conducting intensive operations at the site.
Authorities have issued a red alert for seven districts, including Idukki, Kozhikode, Pathanamthitta, and Ernakulam, due to persistent heavy rainfall. As a precautionary measure, schools have been closed in Wayanad, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Malappuram, and Palakkad.
