Heavy rainfall in the Cauvery catchment areas of Karnataka has led to a rapid rise in water levels across the state's dams. The Kabini reservoir has now reached its full storage capacity as a result of the sustained downpour.
Following the surge in inflow, authorities have increased the volume of water released to Tamil Nadu to 25,000 cubic feet per second.
