India concluded the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a fourth-place finish, securing 39 medals including 13 gold, 17 silver, and nine bronze. Despite the exclusion of several traditional medal-winning disciplines such as shooting and wrestling, the Indian contingent maintained its standing among the top nations by adapting to a revised sporting programme.
Athletics and para-athletics led the performance with 16 medals, while boxing proved highly successful by contributing seven gold medals. Weightlifting added nine medals, including a gold from Mirabai Chanu, and judo provided two historic gold medals. August 1 marked the team's most productive day, during which athletes claimed 18 medals to solidify India's position in the standings.
Following the conclusion of the Games, focus now shifts to the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will be hosted in Amdavad. This upcoming event will mark the centenary edition of the Games and represent the second time India has served as the host nation.
