Vilathikulam DMK MLA Markandeyan was released from Palayamkottai Central Prison today after being granted bail. He had been incarcerated following his arrest for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the Chief Minister.
The Madras High Court issued the bail order yesterday. Following the completion of formal prison release procedures, the MLA was officially discharged from custody.
