Several passengers and crew members were injured Tuesday morning when an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi encountered severe turbulence. The Airbus A320, operating as flight AI 2379, experienced a sudden 300-foot drop in altitude while cruising before landing safely in Delhi shortly after 11 a.m.
Fourteen individuals—10 passengers and four crew members—were taken to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram and the India Spinal Injury Centre in Vasant Kunj for medical evaluation. An Air India spokesperson confirmed there were no reports of serious injuries and stated the airline is providing support to those affected.
Air India is currently cooperating with authorities investigating the incident. The airline reiterated that the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew remain its highest priority.
