The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered Dabur India Ltd to stop using misleading "100%" claims on its food products. The regulator cited items such as honey, cow ghee, edible oils, and coconut-based products that featured labels like "100% Natural" or "100% Purity Guaranteed," stating these violate the 2018 FSS (Advertising & Claims) Regulations because they are ambiguous and unverifiable.
Furthermore, the FSSAI noted that Dabur failed to address previous notices regarding these labels. The regulator also identified that products including Dabur Himalayan Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and Dabur Organic Honey displayed the Jaivik Bharat logo without the necessary organic certification. Dabur must now halt the sale of products bearing these claims and submit an Action Taken Report within 15 days. In response, the company confirmed it has received the notice and is currently reviewing the regulator's findings.
