A reporter, cameraman, and driver from News Tamil television were assaulted by members of the DMK IT wing while covering a story in Thanjavur. According to the complaint, the attackers, who appeared to be intoxicated, tore the journalists' shirts and chased them while physically assaulting them.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation, with many describing the attack on media personnel as inhumane. The victims have filed a formal complaint regarding the assault.
