Former DMK minister E.V. Velu has called for the immediate removal of unparliamentary remarks from legislative assembly proceedings, citing the impact of live broadcasts on the house's decorum. He urged the Speaker to take proactive measures to ensure such comments are expunged in real-time.
Velu noted that previously, proceedings were reviewed in the Speaker's chamber before broadcast, allowing for the removal of inappropriate content. With the current implementation of live streaming, he emphasized that the Speaker must now consult and act during the session itself to maintain the dignity of the assembly.
