The Greater Chennai Corporation has restored free Wi-Fi services across 44 locations at Marina Beach, Besant Nagar Beach, and Secretariat Park. The initiative follows government directives aimed at enhancing digital connectivity in popular public areas.
Of the total locations, 27 are situated along Marina Beach between the Labour Statue and the Lighthouse, while five are at Besant Nagar Beach and 12 are at Secretariat Park. Users can access the free service by selecting the network, scanning the displayed QR code, and entering a mobile-verified OTP.
Officials confirmed that efforts are underway to repair non-functional Wi-Fi systems and install new connectivity points at other crowded locations, including parks and sports grounds. This project is part of a broader push to improve digital access for the public across the city.
