US President Donald Trump has warned that any nation providing financial or logistical support to Iran will face severe economic consequences. He described the upcoming measures as an unprecedented campaign of economic warfare and isolation, specifically targeting activities like oil smuggling, cash transfers, and the use of front companies.
While Trump did not name specific countries or detail the exact penalties for those continuing to deal with Tehran, he urged US allies to join the effort. He claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been significantly weakened and that its economy is already under extreme pressure.
Trump stated that Iran had failed to accept multiple opportunities to reach a deal with his administration. He concluded by asserting that these historic measures would cripple Iran's ability to project terror and reiterated that the country will never be permitted to possess a nuclear weapon.
