Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has called for a transition from water sharing to water cooperation while addressing the Southern Zonal Council meeting. He emphasized that the time has come for states to move beyond traditional disputes and adopt a collaborative approach to water management.
Asserting that Karnataka remains committed to respecting the rights of neighboring states, Shivakumar stated that the government's policies are firmly rooted in the principles of equality, transparency, and cooperation.
