Gold prices continue to experience fluctuations influenced by global economic conditions. After rising on the 10th and 11th, prices had seen a decline for several days. However, yesterday, gold prices surged, increasing by Rs. 300 per gram and Rs. 2,400 per sovereign. A gram of gold was sold for Rs. 13,800, and a sovereign for Rs. 1,10,400.
Today, gold prices have further increased. In Chennai, the price of ornamental gold rose by Rs. 60 per gram, reaching Rs. 13,860. Concurrently, the price per sovereign increased by Rs. 480, now selling at Rs. 1,10,880.
Silver prices also saw an upward trend today. A gram of silver increased by Rs. 5, now trading at Rs. 270. A bar of silver is being sold for Rs. 2,70,000.
