Amidst ongoing discussions about a potential AIADMK-DMK alliance, DMK Organizing Secretary R.S. Bharathi has questioned what is wrong if AIADMK and DMK, who are political entities, form an alliance. Speaking on the matter, he pointed out that AIADMK is not an untouchable party, and communist parties have allied with AIADMK many times. He stated that time has created a situation where DMK and AIADMK have to sit in the same row in the assembly, and supporters of both parties, seeing this, believe they have united. He also mentioned that AIADMK cadres themselves have come to the conclusion that only M.K. Stalin can save the Dravidian movement. By-elections are to be held in 6 constituencies, including Trichy East, in the next 6 months. Therefore, discussions have emerged in political circles asking if the DMK is preparing for an alliance with AIADMK in these by-elections itself, and if the party is testing the waters through R.S. Bharathi for this purpose. With the two parties, DMK and AIADMK, reportedly having a combined vote bank of at least 45 percent, the question has also arisen whether the parties are uniting to counter Vijay.
