AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami informed the Legislative Assembly that paddy crops in the Delta districts have suffered severe damage due to recent rains. He highlighted that crops across two acres have been destroyed, noting that harvested paddy covered by tarpaulins has begun to sprout and spoil.
Responding to the concerns, Minister Vinoth stated that the region recorded 151.4 millimeters of rainfall. However, he assured the House that the government would assess the extent of the crop damage and provide appropriate relief to the affected farmers.
